Silver Celebration

Source: Anne Clayton; published in English Dance & Song, August 1965, Volume XXVII No. 4
Formation: Longways; Four Couples; Proper

A1 Ends meet in the Middle, Set R/L; Circle Left
WHILE Middles Cast to the Ends & Partner Set & Swing
Reform the Set: 2, 1, 4, 3
A2 Repeat to Places
B1 Middles Full Figure Eight around nearest End Couple
B2 Lines Go Forward & Back
Bottoms Set Right & Left Up the Middle to the Top

Music:
32 bars.

Notes:
I am assuming that the #3s do their Figure Eight down through the #4s, but the document actually says through the #1s. Could get a bit crowded with two couples doing a figure eight around the same couple, but might be fun to try!

Colin Hume provided this page from the book "Joan Winsor 1910-1992", published in 1993 by Dorset District, English Folk Dance and Song Society:

Silver Celebration

This confirms the direction of the Figure Eights, and also shows that the EFDSS article is mising some commas and confuses Setting with The Set.

Colin also provided this chorded music for the dance.
